ePMA Authors and Affiliate Member Rules
We don't want to be overly restrictive, and hope people will use good judgement and ethical values when
dealing with ePMA or customers. When people behave in such a manner as to damage the reputation or image of
ePMA they are hurting all of our members. If there is any suspicion that rules have been broken, offending members
may be warned and given an opportunity to correct the situation. If there is no doubt a rule has been broken, and
the offense appears flagrant, the member may be banned from the program without warning, at the sole discretion of ePMA. Banned members forfeit all claim to unpaid commissions. If they have ebooks or epublications for sale, those will be removed from the
system, and any pending royalties will be paid within 90 days.
- no porn -- Our host service has rules against any pornography or links to pornography on sites hosted by
their service. As applies to eBooks, this means no 'X' rated material -- though 'R' rated, adult texts are allowed.
This rule will be more strictly applied to graphics than to text, 'Playboy' type graphics would be inappropriate,
but romance novels with adult themes are generally acceptable. If in doubt, err on the side of caution.
- no scams -- Members may not make any untrue or exaggerated claims in regard to ePMA products. Nor can they include ePMA material or offers on a website that includes any
dishonest or illegal material. The eBooks uploaded by authors/distributors can not include scams or links to scams. No eBook may be submitted to ePMA that is designed to connect to the Internet automatically, without the reader selecting a clearly marked link. Members may not upload files containing viruses, worms, or other malicious programs.
- no spam -- Our products may NOT be promoted through unsolicited email. A great deal of spam contains bogus
claims that the recipient has requested the information, or joined a program, etc. Anyone found to follow such a practice
when promoting the ePMA program will be banned. You MAY send personal messages to friends and associates, or
advertise in email newsletters that are truly opt-in.
- Rights By submitting a publication to ePMA, the submitter certifies he or she has the legal right to sell that publication, either as the original author, an agent of the author with a legal contract giving them the right to reproduce the publication electronically, an heir of the original author with documentation that they have inherited the rights to reproduction of the author's work, or because the work is in the public domain under U.S. Copyright Law. Likewise the submitter certifies they own the rights to any graphics contained in the work or submitted as cover art or supporting promotional material, or those artworks are in the public domain. The submitter further certifies that nothing in the work, associated graphics or promotional text infringes on any trademark, patent, or other legal rights of third parties. By submitting promotional material such as cover art, text descriptions,
reviews or endorsements, the submitter grants full rights to ePMA and ePMA affiliate members to use those materials to promote
sales of the associated electronic publications.
- Duration -- Members may withdraw individual publications from the program, or leave the program entirely. The management may also remove books that do not sell, or submissions of individuals who break these rules. Because books are being listed on affiliate sites, it is an unreasonable burden to force them to remove books at any time, without notice -- so the submitter of any publication agrees that they will notify ePMA of the intent to remove titles in December of any year. The management of ePMA will notify all affiliates of any books to be removed during the first week of the following January. Affiliates listing publications on their own sites agree to remove references and links to books deleted by their submitters or by ePMA by the end of January. Thus affiliates should normally only need to correct their listings once per year. The only exception to this process would be if a publication were found to be in violation of copyright or our anti-porn rules, in which case it will be removed immediately.
